General Information

MISSIONS Ministry

We take the Lord's work to the community, both near and far. We participate in several mission projects that range from once a year to ongoing. Some of them are "home grown", such as the "Pick-An-Angel" during the Advent Season. Worldwide missions include Operation Christmas Child "Shoe Box" and the "Far Reaching Ministries" supporting Missionaries in Nairobi, Kenya.

MUSIC Ministry

If you enjoy singing, meet with the MPBC Choir director or choir president and get "fitted" to a vocal range and choir robe. Sacred music is very important to the worship experience and your gift might be just what is needed to up-lift and inspire the spirituality of our members and visitors. Our MPBC Choir rehearse on Friday of each week. Come make a joyful noise to the Lord.

ADULT USHER Ministry

Ushers, are the ones who stand at the door, greet members and visitors, distribute pamphlets and assist people in seating; play a key role in the worship experience. The way ushers greet people can and will determine how the person will receive the sermon. The usher is in a sense an ambassador for God and the role you play is very important to providing a spiritual worship experience for our members and visitors.

JUNIOR USHER Ministry

The Junior Usher Ministry serves the congregation on the 4th Sunday of every month at the Sunday Morning worship service. They serve as young leaders of the church and range in age from 6 to 18 years. They are responsible for welcoming our guests, distributing progams, providing "Welcome Packages" and assisting during the offering period.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION Ministry

Christian Education for all age groups, 3 years old through adult. Our Sunday School meets every Sunday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. At Mount Pleasant, you will find opportunities for continuing your Christian education. Our Wednesday Evening Bible Study is designed to provide in dept study of God's word. You will be spiritually enlightened and know, without a doubt, why you accept Jesus as your savior.

YOUTH Ministry

We are delighted to introduce our new music ministry "the Bells of Joy choir” and our youth ministry. Our ministry focuses on building the foundation of faith so that our youth can become world changers. Through the use of music, drama, bible study, videos, and games, children ages 3 through high school will come to know God more deeply and develop their faith. They will learn how to make wise choices, that can trust God no matter what, and how they should treat others.

MEN and WOMEN Ministries

Be a part of a ministry that brings men together to share brotherhood. Women likewise come together in sisterhood. Men gather for special sporting events, host holiday breakfasts and dinners, and generally share friendship and fellowship. Our women and men also expand their horizons through speaker programs and seminars dealing with personal development and social consciousness.

SENIORS OUTREACH Ministry

Serving seniors and residents with disabilities in the surrounding community. We provide a simple lunch once a month as we share information about the goodness of Jesus and prayer for those who seek spiritual food as well as physical nutriments. This ministry is in partnership with the Edison Housing Authority and Bridges, a non-profit help organization.

MEN OF VALOR

Men of Valor is a Christian fellowship organization for the young men of the church between the ages of 5 and 16. Its purpose is to expose them to Christian values, provide character building experiences and assist cultural growth in an effort to establish a foundation for entering manhood. It is based on the spiritual premise articulated in Proverbs 22:6, “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” NIV.” Their motto is “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” Phil 4:13
